Fern Hill Hotel, situated in the picturesque hill station of Ooty, is a popular destination for tourists seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway. However, in recent years, rumors have spread about the hotel being haunted by the spirits of the past. Some have reported hearing strange noises in the night, feeling cold spots in certain rooms, and even seeing apparitions of people who had long since passed away. As a paranormal investigator, I decided to visit the hotel and investigate these rumors myself.

Day One

Upon arriving at Fern Hill Hotel, I was greeted by the friendly staff and shown to my room. The room was spacious and well-furnished, with a large window offering a stunning view of the surrounding hills. After settling in, I decided to explore the hotel and its grounds.

The hotel was surrounded by lush gardens, and I found myself admiring the colorful flowers and the serene beauty of the place. However, as I walked deeper into the gardens, I began to feel uneasy. It was as though someone was watching me, and I couldn't shake the feeling of being followed. I decided to cut my exploration short and head back to my room.

That night, I heard strange noises coming from the hallway outside my room. It sounded like footsteps, but when I opened the door to investigate, there was no one there. I brushed it off as my imagination playing tricks on me and went back to sleep.

Day Two

The next day, I decided to talk to some of the hotel staff about the rumors of hauntings. They seemed hesitant to speak about it, but eventually, one of the staff members, a middle-aged man named Ravi, opened up to me.

According to Ravi, the hotel was built on the site of an old British bungalow, which was owned by a wealthy colonial family. The family had a daughter named Emily, who was known for her beauty and charm. However, one day, she disappeared without a trace, and no one knew what had happened to her.

Ravi went on to tell me that guests had reported seeing Emily's ghost in the hotel, and that strange things had been happening ever since the hotel was built. Lights would flicker on and off, doors would open and close by themselves, and guests had reported feeling cold spots in certain rooms.

That night, as I was drifting off to sleep, I felt a sudden chill in the air. I pulled the blankets up to my chin and closed my eyes, but then I heard a faint whispering in my ear. It was a woman's voice, but I couldn't make out what she was saying. I opened my eyes, and there, standing at the foot of my bed, was a figure in a flowing white dress.

I was frozen in fear as the figure approached me, its eyes fixed on mine. Suddenly, the figure vanished, and the room was plunged into darkness. I scrambled for the light switch and turned it on, but there was no one there.

Day Three

The next morning, I was still shaken from the previous night's experience. I decided to talk to some of the other guests and see if they had experienced anything similar. Most of them seemed skeptical, but one couple, who were staying in the room next to mine, had a different story to tell.

According to the couple, they had heard strange noises coming from the room next door in the middle of the night. They had assumed it was just another guest coming in late, but when they looked out their window, they saw a figure in a white dress walking through the gardens.
