Biography of Lal Bahadur Shastri ?.

Lal Bahadur Shastri , the true son of Mother India, who played the main role in the freedom struggle, was a great personality. He was the second Prime Minister of India. Due to the death of Nehru, Shastri was appointed as the Prime Minister of India. He led the country in the Indo-Pak war in 1965. Shastri's personality was very simple and courageous. It was Shastri ji who tried to unite the country by raising the slogan of Jai Jawan Jai Kisan.

Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on 2 October 1904 in Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh. His father's name was Munshi Sharda Prasad Srivastava. His father worked as a teacher, so he called him Munshi ji. His mother's name was Ramdulari. His mother was a householder and a religious woman.

When Lal Bahadur Shastri was only 1 year old, his father passed away. After this his mother raised Lal Bahadur Shastri and his two daughters alone. Lal Bahadur Shastri's primary education was completed in his village itself. After this he did his further studies from Harishchandra High School and Kashi Vidyapeeth. He completed his graduation in Sanskrit language. After which he got the title of Shastri.

Education of Lal Bahadur Shastri

Lal Bahadur Shastri's early education took place in Mirzapur while living at his maternal grandfather's house, but he went to Varanasi for further studies. Where he completed his graduation in Philosophy from Kashi Vidyapeeth (present Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth). In the year 1926, Lal Bahadur ji was honored with the title of "Shastri" in Kashi Vidyapeeth itself. Since then, Shastri started adding in front of his name

After completing his studies, Shastri ji joined "The Servants of the People Society" started by the great freedom fighter of the country, Lala Lajpat Rai. Let us tell you that the main objective of this society was to train such youth, who should always be ready to serve the country.

Important role of Shastri ji in the freedom struggle of the country

Lal Bahadur Shastri is one of the great personalities of the country, who ignited the flame of freedom among the people by sacrificing everything in the fight to liberate the country from the British rulers. He jumped into the freedom struggle of the country at the age of 16-17. Shastri ji was greatly influenced by the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi. He considered her as his role model.

Lal Bahadur Shastri played an important role in the movements launched by Gandhiji against the British. Let us tell you that Lal Bahadur Shastri gave his full support to Gandhiji's "Non-cooperation Movement" during his schooling in the year 1921.

In the meantime, he had to go to jail several times, although he was later released due to his young age. After this, in the year 1930, Lal Bahadur Shastri took an active role in the "Civil Disobedience Movement" run by Gandhi and inspired the people of the country not to pay rent and taxes to the British government.

During the provincial elections in 1946, Pandit Govind Vallabh Pant was so impressed by Lal Bahadur Shastri's administrative and organizational ability that when he became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in independent India, he appointed Lal Bahadur Shastri as his parliamentary secretary.

Shastri ji also fulfilled this responsibility very well, due to which he got a place in the cabinet of Govind Vallabh Pant ji and Shastri ji was appointed as the Minister of Police and Transport. During this time Lal Bahadur Shastri appointed the first woman as a conductor to improve and promote the status of women in the country and to reserve seats for women in transport.

Along with this, he made a rule to control the crowd with water cannon apart from lathi-charging the police to control the crowd. After the constitution came into force, the first general elections were held in the country and India became a democratic and secular republic.

During this time Lal Bahadur Shastri ji was handling the party front as the General Secretary of the Congress Party. During this, he campaigned fiercely for the Congress party, after which the Congress party won with a huge majority. In 1952, the country's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru appointed Lal Bahadur Shastri as the Minister of Railways and Transport in his cabinet. Taking the responsibility of this post, Lal Bahadur Shastri reduced the gap between first class and third class in Zee train to a great extent./p>

Then in the year 1956, Lal Bahadur Shastri, taking moral responsibility for a railway accident, resigned from the post of Railway Minister and he stood by the decision of his resignation. After this, when the Congress government was formed during the second Lok Sabha elections in the country, Lal Bahadur Shastri was first given the responsibility of the post of Transport and Communications Minister, although later he took over the post of Commerce and Industry Minister.

Lal Bahadur Shastri's death

In 1966, Lal Bahadur Shastri met the President of Pakistan Ayub Khan in Tashkent, the capital of Russia, to sign a peace agreement between India and Pakistan. During this, many important issues of maintaining peace between India and Pakistan were signed.
