Kalpana Chawla Biography.

Kalpana Chawla was an Indian-American astronaut and Space Shuttle mission specialist. She was the second Indian and the first Indian woman to go into space. Kalpana was one of the seven astronaut crew members killed in the 'Columbia space shuttle disaster'. Kalpana's first space flight was the STS 87 Columbia Shuttle completed between 19 November 1997 and 5 December 1997. His second and last flight was launched on 16 January 2003 from the Space Shuttle Columbia, but unfortunately on 1 February 2003, the Columbia Space Shuttle crashed before landing. On Earth, all 6 passengers of the spacecraft including Kalpana Chawla would die.

As all the citizens of India surely know that the first woman astronaut of India was Kalpana Chawla. Not only the citizens of India but the citizens of the whole world know Kalpana Chawla ji. Kalpana Chawla ji was such a woman who, despite being an Indian woman, went to space with America. Where to go Kalpana Chawla was the Specialist Woman of the Space Shuttle Mission.

Kalpana Chawla was the financial astronaut woman from all over the world and the first woman astronaut from all over India. Kalpana Chawla was one of the crew of seven astronauts killed in the Columbia space shuttle disaster. Kalpana Chawla's first space flight was operated from 19 November 1997 to 5 December 1997 during the STS 87 Columbia Shuttle Mission. Astronaut Kalpana Chawla was born on 17 March 1962, in Karnal, a small town located in the state of Haryana. Kalpana Chawla's father's name was Banarasi Lal Chawla and mother's name was Sanjyoti. Kalpana Chawla's parents had a son and two other daughters. He had two daughters named Sunita Chawla and Deepa Chawla while his brother's name was Sanjay Chawla.

Kalpana Chawla was the youngest among all her siblings. For this reason, Kalpana Chawla used to get a lot of love from her parents. Kalpana Chawla had a very playful nature since childhood, due to her playful nature, she used to fascinate anyone. For this reason, Kalpana Chawla used to be everyone's favorite.

Kalpana Chawla Education
Kalpana Chawla's early education took place in Tagore Public School, Karnal. Kalpana Chawla ji had set her goal in childhood itself. He wanted to become an aeronautic engineer from his early days. Along with becoming an aeronautic engineer, Kalpana Chawla was determined that she would also become an astronaut and travel to space.
Kalpana Chawla cherished her dream of becoming an astronaut. But on the contrary Kalpana Chawla's father believed that Kalpana Chawla ji should become a teacher. To make the dream come true, Kalpana Chawla enrolled in Chandigarh's Punjab Engineering College to complete her studies as an aeronautic engineer. Kalpana Chawla obtained the degree of Aeronautic Engineer in the year 1982.
After obtaining an aeronautic engineer degree, Kalpana Chawla moved to the US in the same year, she enrolled in the US in 1982 at the University of Texas at Arlington to pursue a master's in aerospace engineer. Kalpana Chawla successfully passed this examination of Master of Aerospace Engineering in the year 1984.
In the middle of her studies, Kalpana Chawla also married Jean-Pierre Harrison in the year 1983. Jean-Pierre Harrison was a renowned flight instructor and aviation writer. Kalpana Chawla also completed her second master's in Aerospace Engineering in the year 1986. Subsequently, Kalpana Chawla did her Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Colorado.
Kalpana Chawla Career
1) Kalpana Chawla's career started in the year 1988 AD at NASA's Amesh Research Center. Kalpana Chawla started from NASA's Amesh Research Center as Vice President of Overseas Methods Inc. Kalpana Chawla researched V/STOL CFDs there. Kalpana Chawla also achieved the rank of Certified Flight Instructor for licensing of airplanes.

2) Kalpana Chawla got the citizenship of being a native of America in the year 1911. After this, in March 1995, Kalpana Chawla joined NASA's Astronaut Course and she made her first flight in 1996. Kalpana Chawla made her first space flight in Colombia on 19 November 1997. ,

3) After this space flight, Kalpana Chawla became the first Indian woman to travel together in space and became the second Indian. India's first astronaut was Rakesh Sharma, who traveled to space in 1984. It is estimated that Kalpana Chawla traveled about 1000000 miles in her first space flight, which is equivalent to about 252 revolutions of the Earth.

4) Kalpana Chawla spent almost 272 hours of her life in space. Kalpana Chawla Ji was entrusted with the responsibility of setting up the Spartan satellite in this journey, on which Kalpana Chawla installed the satellite properly but this satellite did not work independently and properly.
